CPhI & PMEC China 2023 was held in Shanghai starting from 19th June 2023 for three days. Shanghai New International Exhibition Hall was filled with international attendees for the first-time post covid. The event was a huge success as it offered a platform to source solutions across the entire pharma supply chain of Asia. There were nearly 3,400+ exhibitors and professionals from more than 120 countries and regions who attended the event, and the number of visitors increased by 30% compared with 2019.

IOI Oleo Chemical's business director of Pharma, Hendrik Woehlk presented the Pharma Partnership Award to Fengli at CPHI Shanghai. The award was to recognize the anti-epidemic support provided by Fengli to IOI Oleo Chemical's API production site during the pandemic. Therefore the supply of Medium-Chain Triglycerides, MIGLYOL® 812N API was stabilized even under the worldwide lockdown.

 

Hendrik said, "Fengli was so kind to provide us with boxes of masks, which enabled our company to maintain our production. Fengli was the key enabler for us to run our production with full capacity in those difficult days"

After the ceremony, Hendrik expressed IOI's willingness to continuously deepen their cooperation in China, so that the high-quality products such as partial glycerides IMWITOR® and WITEPSOL® hard fats (with more accurate melting point range) can be cognized and applied in topical preparations, suppositories, lipid drugs and other applications. At present, regulatory documents for different proportions of caprylic acid and capric acid medium chain triglyceride are under review and will soon be ready for submission.

BASF is one of the world's largest chemical companies and industry leaders. It was hard to miss the eye-catching booth they had in CPhI.

 

Jennifer Zhang, the manager of the Pharmaceutical Materials and Application Department of China from BASF, has told us that BASF started to recover from the force majeure impact due to the Russia-Ukraine War.  BASF is trying its best to maintain a stable supply for customers in China.

Clariant is one of the world's leading specialty chemical companies. It introduces polyethylene glycol with different molecular weights and new rheology modifiers from Germany. Clariant has shown its ambition in the Chinese market by launching a manufacturing site in Da Ya Bay in Huizhou, Guangdong Province. This move secures the polyethylene glycol supply to the pharmaceutical industry in China and worldwide.
